BurnTec® is the only hydrogel dressing available on the emergency market in the form of a stable and durable hydrogel patch (not liquid). It is most often used as a first aid in case of burns, but is also used as an emergency dressing in case of abrasions and other skin injuries requiring immediate supply. BurnTec® dressing is also used at a later stage of treatment of patients, especially in hospital emergency departments or surgical wards.
BURNTEC is a modern medical device used in the following cases:
- first, second and third degree burns (thermal, chemical, electrical)
- sunburn
- abrasions and irritation of the epidermis
- bruises and swellings (bites)
- other skin injuries where a moist environment is desirable
The hydrogel dressing provides a moisture balance on the wound surface. It absorbs wound exudate or irrigates the wound for dry wounds.
